At the far end of Storøya is a sandy beach on what was once the southeastern part of the runway for Fornebu airport. Here there are barbecue areas, toilets, wardrobes and a kiosk that is open during the summer season. Even though it's a popular beach, there is always space for you.
The beach has been awarded a blue flag which is an environmental certification that guarantees high quality bathing water and environmental work for the area.
Within the sandy beach there is a large area with lawn. Although there are many visitors on fine days, there will always be room here.
There are good hiking opportunities in the area.
