In Lørenparken, 20 sculptures depicting characters and events in Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt have been placed. The park is 5 acres in size and is used for sports, play and recreation. One of the buildings surrounding the park is the National Theatre's new branch, which was established in 2020. The park is a good option for the whole family with benches and lawns for adults and playground equipment and small football pitches for the little ones. And art that is interesting for people of all ages.

The Lørenbyen residential area was established in 2000 on an area that had previously been the Løren military camp. In 2006, the Peer Gynt Park with its sculptures was created as part of the Ibsen Year. Here, Norwegian and international artists have each interpreted a part of Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt with a total of 20 sculptures that are placed around the park area between playground equipment, lawns, bicycle racks, benches and hiking trails. Three of the sculptures are commissioned works, while the rest are winning works from an open international sculpture competition.

The park has the country's largest climbing net, green lawns for recreation, a small football field with artificial turf and several benches. To the east, the park is bordered by the National Theatre's Løren branch, which was established in 2020 in the old Cannon Hall. The Cannon Hall is a listed building that was once a cannon workshop and ammunition depot in the Løren camp, but is now used as a cultural center.

If you are well acquainted with Ibsen's Peer Gynt, you should be able to follow the events of the play act by act through the park's sculptures.
