Eineåsen at Rykkinn - illuminated trail, hiking trails and marked paths

On the northeast side of Rykkinn is a hill with nice viewpoints and many well-maintained trails for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Eineåsen is located as a ridge between Rykkinn, Bærums Verk and Lommedalen and is part of a larger forested area that extends further towards Krokskogen. It is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Bærum. The area is covered with spruce, pine and some junipher bushes (einebusker in Norwegian), which gave rise to the Norwegian name.

From the viewpoints on Eineåsen you can see Kolsåstoppen on the left, a housing estate on Rykkinn on the lower right and parts of the inner Oslofjord on the horizon. The hike starts at the Gommerud exit parking lot at Vestre Bærum Tennisklubb. From there, a gravel hiking trail runs from Rykkinn over to Bærum's works. Parallel to this is a trail that is designed for cross-country skiing in winter and hiking in summer. Follow it up a long hill for about 700 meters. Where the light trail starts, turn left and follow the light trail up into the forest.

After about 2 km, the light trail takes a sharp right turn. The route continues on, but at this turn you can take a small detour of about 100 meters to a nice viewpoint.

A little further up in the forest there is a sign to Stormyra. It is actually a fairly small marsh area, but nearby there is an area that may be suitable for outdoor overnight stays.

After about 3 km you will come to a sign marked Utsiktspunkt. You will then be at the top of Eineåsen. From there a narrow forest path leads out to a new viewpoint.

The light trail at Eineåsen is operated by Eineåsen ski resort at Gruvemyra. It is 3-5 km long depending on which trails you want to go. In winter, trails for classic and freestyle are prepared if there is enough snow. The lights are on until 10 pm in the evening.
To get onto the light trail, you can start at Gruvemyra / Eineåsen ski resort (main parking lot), at Rykkinn school / Øvre Rykkinn where trails lead straight into the trail, at Gullhaug where several small trails connect to the trail and from Bærums Verk via the forest trails behind Verksgata.
In addition to the light trail, there is a network of hiking trails and marked and unmarked trails that make it possible to vary the route you want to take from time to time. The most popular routes are:
Round trip from Rykkinn via Eineåsen to Gullhaug. It is an easy round trip of 3-5 km that starts from the center of Rykkinn or Øvre Rykkinn. It goes on wide hiking paths and small forest trails.
The trip from Rykkinn to Bærums Verk via Eineåsen is one of the most popular routes. It is about 4 km one way and ends at Verksgata where there are shops and cafes where you can have a cup of coffee before either walking back the same way, or following the hiking path along Lommedalsveien and back into the Rykkinn area from there.
The Eineåsen round trip is a classic round trip of 5-7 km depending on which variant you choose. Here you walk in beautiful terrain that is suitable for both running and walking. The route uses both the light trail and paths towards Enli and Lommedalen.
There are also several "top hikes" to small hills in the area, including at Enli nature reserve where you can get a nice view of Rykkinn and Kolsås.
