On sunny days it often becomes crowded on the largest beaches such as Hvalstrand and Sjøstrand. If you want more privacy, Elnestangen might be a good option. In the mornings it's nice on the southern beach. You'll have a view to Nesodden and towards Drøbak.
Especially in the cold season it is popular to fish from this beach.
At four o'clock p.m. when the breeze comes, you can find shelter on the northern beach. Here you have evening sun till nine or ten o'clock p.m.
If you manage to swim a few meters, you can use a small bathing fleet. The beach on this side consists of the typical slate that is so typical of the Oslo Fjord.
To get from one beach to another, you go through a nice little forest.
On the north side, there is a nice lawn that accommodates many families. Here there are also benches and toilets.
In the evenings, you can enjoy the view of Oslo. Often there is a regatta between the islands.
To get from the parking lot to the beach, you have to walk past a music kindergarten in idyllic old wooden houses.
